About Strikethrough Text Generator
The Strikethrough Text Generator turns ordinary text into struck-through text that survives a copy and paste into places that do not support formatting — social media bios, chat apps, usernames, comments and form fields.
Instead of relying on markdown or HTML tags, it weaves an invisible Unicode combining mark into each character, so the line literally becomes part of the letters and travels with the text wherever it goes.
Four styles are offered.
The classic strikethrough draws a single line through the middle of every glyph, ideal for showing crossed-out prices or edited thoughts.
The thin double style uses a lighter overlay for a subtler look.
The slash overlay adds a diagonal stroke, and the underline option draws a line beneath each character.
Spaces are left untouched so words stay readable and the spacing looks natural.
Because the effect is built from real Unicode code points, the result works in most modern apps, though a few older systems may render combining marks imperfectly.
Everything is generated locally in your browser — nothing you type is uploaded or stored — so it is safe for private notes and keeps working offline once loaded.
FAQ
Why does this work without markdown?
Each character is paired with a Unicode combining mark, so the line is part of the text itself. That means it survives a plain copy-and-paste into apps that strip formatting.
Will it display everywhere?
It works in most modern apps and browsers. A small number of older systems may render combining marks imperfectly, so check the destination if it looks important.
