QR Code Reader
Decode a QR image and read its content.
How to use
- 1 Choose a QR code image (screenshot or photo) to upload.
- 2 The reader decodes it in your browser and shows the content.
- 3 Review the parsed fields — URL, Wi-Fi, contact, location and more.
- 4 Or paste decoded QR text into the box to interpret it manually.
About QR Code Reader
The QR Code Reader decodes a QR code from an image and explains exactly what it contains.
Upload a screenshot or photo of a QR code and the tool scans it directly in your browser using the device’s built-in barcode detection, then interprets the decoded text into a clear, structured result rather than a raw blob of characters.
It recognises the common QR payload formats and shows their parts: website URLs (with a safe, clickable link), Wi-Fi join codes (network name, security type and password), contact cards in vCard form, geographic coordinates, and mailto, tel and SMS actions.
Anything it does not recognise is shown as plain text.
The decoded content is also editable, so if your browser cannot scan images, or you already have the raw QR string, you can paste it in and the tool will still interpret it.
A copy button puts the full content on your clipboard in one click.
Because the scan runs entirely on your machine, the image is never uploaded, logged or stored — important when a QR code might encode a private Wi-Fi password, a personal contact or a payment link.
For safety, decoded links open in a new tab and are never followed automatically, so you can inspect a URL before deciding to visit it.
FAQ
Is my QR image uploaded anywhere?
No. Decoding uses your browser’s built-in barcode detection and happens entirely on your device — the image is never sent to a server.
What if my browser cannot scan the image?
Some browsers lack the barcode-detection feature. In that case, paste the decoded QR text into the editable box and the tool will still classify and parse it.
Does it open links automatically?
No. Decoded URLs are shown as a link that opens in a new tab only when you click it, so you can inspect the address first.
