About Stopwatch Countdown

The Stopwatch Countdown is a clean, dependable timer that does two jobs in one place.

In stopwatch mode it counts up from zero with centisecond precision, so you can time a workout, a presentation, a brew or a coding sprint and read the result at a glance on a large, high-contrast display.

The Lap button records split times while the clock keeps running, and the tool shows the average of your laps so you can spot whether you are speeding up or slowing down.

Switch to countdown mode and you get a flexible timer that understands the way people actually write durations.

Type plain seconds like "90", a clock value like "1:30" or "1:02:03", or unit shorthand like "5m", "1h30m" or "45s", and the timer figures out what you meant.

It counts down to zero and stops cleanly, with Start, Pause and Reset controls that behave exactly as you expect — pausing freezes the clock and resuming continues from where you left off.

Because the timing maths and duration parsing are pure, tested functions and the timer itself uses your browser, nothing is uploaded and there are no accounts, ads or trackers.

It keeps running offline once the page has loaded, making it a reliable little tool to leave open in a background tab.

FAQ

What duration formats can I type for the countdown?

Plain seconds ("90"), clock form ("1:30" or "1:02:03"), and unit shorthand ("5m", "1h30m", "45s"). The timer parses whichever you use.

Does the timer keep running if I switch tabs?

Yes. It uses the real wall-clock time, so when you return the display catches up to the correct elapsed or remaining time.

Is anything sent to a server?

No. The stopwatch runs entirely in your browser with no accounts, ads or tracking, and works offline once loaded.
