About Metronome

This online Metronome gives musicians a steady, reliable pulse to practise with — no app to install and nothing to buy.

Dial in any tempo from 20 to 300 beats per minute, pick how many beats are in each measure, and press Start; the metronome ticks at a precise interval and accents the first beat of every bar so you always know where the downbeat falls.

The tempo controls are designed for real practice.

Type an exact BPM, or use the -5, -1, +1 and +5 buttons to nudge the speed up or down while you play, gradually increasing the tempo as a passage becomes comfortable.

Choosing 2, 3, 4 or 6 beats per measure lets you feel different time signatures, from a simple march to a lilting compound meter, with the accented click marking each bar line.

Sound is generated with the Web Audio API, so the clicks are crisp and low-latency, and the whole tool runs locally in your browser.

Nothing is recorded or uploaded, it works offline once the page has loaded, and there are no ads interrupting your session.

Whether you are drilling scales, tightening up a tricky rhythm or just keeping a band in time, this metronome stays out of the way and keeps the beat.

FAQ

What tempo range does the metronome support?

Any tempo from 20 to 300 BPM. Values outside that range are clamped to the nearest valid tempo.

Why is the first beat louder?

The first beat of each measure is accented with a higher-pitched click so you can hear the start of every bar and stay oriented in the time signature.

Do I need to be online to use it?

No. Once the page has loaded the metronome runs entirely in your browser and continues to work offline.
